Our History
On Sunday March 21, 1999 Connecticut made history, as part of the National Gay & Lesbian Task's Force's Equality Begins at Home initiative, by becoming the first state in the Nation to raise the Gay Rainbow flag over its state's Capitol Building. Flying for seven glorious days, this flag added a sense of accomplishment and beauty to Hartford's Capital Building. It is therefore fitting that "Prides" date of birth is March 21, 1999.
